Recovery for Lost data(For more information, please refer to the instruction manual “Recovery for Lost data”.)

If transmitting data to the PC communication unit fails during measurement due to unstable radio environment, the data (“lost data”) which could not be sent can be recovered at the end of the measurement.
If the lost data could not be retrieved by re-transmission, the lost data can be transmitted again manually. In order to re-transmit the lost data manually, it is necessary that the results of the measurement data to be recovered is displayed on the standard software.
If one of the following operations is done, the lost data will not be transmitted.

Not Good

  • Reboot the standard software of WM2000 (or shut it down)
  • Click on “Start” button to start next measurement.
  • Execute “Settings” to send new settings to the measurement unit
(even if the Settings window was open, executing “Cancel” can avoid this problem.)

When the battery of the measurement unit died and replaced to a new one, the lost data acquired before the battery died can be re-transmitted.
* If new settings are sent by “Settings”, after changing batteries, re-transmission of the lost data turned to impossible. Therefore, please be careful about the order of the operations.

Regarding recovery for the lost data, search for the measurement unit is conducted as preprocessing. If the switch of the measurement unit is turned off, it has no problem.
If connection to the measurement unit fails, execute force reset of the measurement unit and return to the state of switch off. Then, there is possibility to be able to connect to the measurement unit.

Procedure

When conditions for recovery for data are applicable, ‟Recover LOST Data” surrounded by the red color frame in the picture changes to black character to be able to click on.

Open “Recover LOST Data” and click on “Execute”. Then, the lost data is recovered in the order as the figure shown below.

  • All units retrieved are displayed as “Recovered”.
  • Units which failed for re-transmission are displayed as “Error”.
  • Units under re-transmission are displayed as “Executing”.

There is possibility that Error units could not transmit, because of unstable radio environment or batteries died and so on. Therefore, please execute again the recovery for the lost data while making the environment where the communication is possible such as setting the measurement unit nearby or changing batteries and so on.

If the recovery fails even in stable communication environment, there is possibility that the measurement unit is not ready for receiving the lost data.
Please execute force reset and after that, try to operate the recovery for the lost data.
